Could President Trump’s long feud with CNN be ending? When he announced that he would attend the network’s town hall event he explained that CNN might be “changing,” per RSBN.
On Tuesday, he promoted the town hall event on his Truth Social page stating that it “could be the beginning of a New & Vibrant CNN, with no more Fake News, or it could turn into a disaster for all, including me.”
CNN’s credibility has been called into question for years now. While they did recently fire Don Lemon, according to RSBN, and have been restructuring, millions of viewers have tuned out due to a lack of trust.
The network was ostracized in 2020 after they branded the Kenosha Wisconsin riots, “FIERY BUT MOSTLY PEACEFUL,” per the New York Post.
Just last year, Breitbart released a list of “CNN’s Top 10 Fake News Moments of 2022,” and by March of this year, Forbes reported that the network’s ratings had dropped to a 7-year low.
President Trump noted in his post that CNN approached him with an offer that he “couldn’t refuse!!!”
Millions of Americans support President Trump and trust his leadership. Meanwhile, a Knight Foundation poll discovered that half of voters believe the media is purposefully misleading, according to a report released in February.
It is no secret that President Trump’s ability to make headlines is unparalleled. Coverage of his speech last month topped prime-time ratings drawing 6.6 million viewers to Fox News, according to Forbes.
As CNN ratings continue to underperform, their invitation to include President Trump in their town hall is unlikely to be an end to their bias against him or his policies. President Trump openly admitted that it was a desperate attempt “to get those fantastic (TRUMP!) ratings once again.”
