The November 8 Midterm elections will see Americans decide which Party they want controlling Congress.
What the voters decide will have a massive impact on the nation.
And Trey Gowdy heard an election prediction that left his jaw on the ground.
Former Congressman Trey Gowdy welcomed House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik onto his Sunday night show on Fox News Channel.
Stefanik is a controversial member of leadership.
House Republicans elevated Stefanik – who supports amnesty and granting special government rights to transgenders – to the number three position in the conference after booting Liz Cheney following her casting her lot with Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats after the events of January 6.
Stefanik predicted a Republican victory and stated that if the GOP could gain 35 seats in the House, the Party would hold its largest majority since the Great Depression.
“Republicans are in a once in a generation opportunity to win the largest majority since the Great Depression. If we pick up 35 seats, we will make history, Trey. And I’m so excited. We have the most talented recruited class of candidates who will be the most diverse group of newly elected members of Congress who are Republicans ever in our nation’s history,” Stefanik stated.
Polls show a close election.
But the post-Labor Day polls also showed a shift towards the Republican Party, as the stock market tanked, gas prices rose, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis put the border crisis front and center by flying 50 illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard.
Stefanik instead tried to credit the “Commitment to America” – a bland document House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy released that few people read and even fewer know exists – for the GOP’s change in fortunes.
“The Commitment to America is focused on four major pillars. We want an economy that’s strong, a nation that’s safe, a future that’s built upon freedom, and a government that’s accountable. When it comes to the economic issues, stopping the trillions and trillions of reckless spending that have fueled this inflation crisis, Republicans will do that immediately when we earn back the House,” Stefanik stated.
Republicans only need to win five seats to flip the House of Representatives.
Polls show the GOP is well-positioned to do just that.
But some top Party officials believe the victory could be much larger.
